What is Resurfacing Rx?

Love your skin again with Laser Resurfacing!

Are you looking for a powerful and proven treatment to dramatically renew your skin? Do you want to diminish age spots, melasma, wrinkles and fine lines? Do you want to refine pores, improve laxity and boost collagen production? If so, Laser Resurfacing may be perfect for you.

How does it work? Resurfacing Rx is a very precise and controlled ablative procedure. We use an

Erbium Laser to remove the outer layers of dead skin. The outermost and most damaged skin layers are removed to reveal fresh new skin cells and to speed the rate of cellular turnover. This results in the fading of hyperpigmentation and melasma. Scars are diminished and the overall skin tone and texture are greatly improved. Laser energy also stimulates the production of new collagen fibers to reveal firmer, more supple skin with fewer fine lines and wrinkles. Beautiful results will be seen immediately upon healing and continue to develop over the next few months as new collagen is formed.

What is the downtime?

Because Resurfacing Rx is an ablative procedure, there is a bit of downtime. Immediately after, expect skin to be red and tight. You may look and feel as though you have a sunburn. A couple of days after the procedure your skin may feel tighter and darker as it prepares to shed. Then you can expect to have active peeling for a few days. It is very important to allow the skin to shed on it's own. Do not pick, pull, rub or exfoliate to accelerate the peeling process. Post procedure downtime typically lasts for 5 to 7 days. It is very important to avoid sun exposure, wear sunscreen, and follow a few simple post procedure instructions to ensure the very best results.

Love the skin you are in with Laser Resurfacing!

Are you a good candidate?

Resurfacing Rx is ideal for those with lighter skin tones (I through III on the Fitzpatrick Scale). Those with medium skin tones (IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale) may be treated with lower energy after a small test spot is performed and evaluated for ideal results. Those with darker skin tones (V and VI on the Fitzpatrick Scale) are not good candidates for Resurfacing Rx, but can be very effectively treated with RF Microneedling.

Are rosacea, broken capillaries, diffuse redness, or very sensitive skin your primary concerns? If so then our Redness Resolve Laser Facial or the Lunchtime Laser Facial would be better options for you.

Results

Resurfacing Rx will effectively reduce hyperpigmentation (including malasma), fade fine lines and improve tone and laxity. As soon as the skin heals you will see clearer, brighter, tighter skin. Your beautiful results will continue to improve over the next few months as new collagen is formed. One treatment will do wonders for aging skin and a series of treatments can produce very dramatic results.
